Best beaches to visit in Phuket

Besides being the largest island in Thailand, Phuket also houses some of the most stunning beaches which you may like to add to your dream beach destinations. While there are so many fantabulous things you can do on the island, beach hopping is one of the major activities which is probably the best highlights of this destination. There can be no better way to make the most of your time in Phuket than covering all the pristine beaches of this island. From secluded and quiet beaches to the ones that are filled with luxurious resorts and fun-filled activities, every beach on this island has a different story to tell and each one of them is truly amazing and interesting in their own way. But there are always some beaches that stand out amongst others and Phuket also has some incredible beaches that add to the beauty of this wonderful place and are definitely a must to visit.

Patong beach

Of course, no list can be completed without mentioning one of the most popular beaches on the island, Patong beach. While this might not be the most scenic beach in Phuket, but it definitely is one of the most popular and crowded beaches you will find on the island. The only thing that attracts visitors to this beach is the unrivaled nightlife and fun-filled water activities. Besides that, there is also a town behind the beach where you can find several restaurants, hotels, and a few attractions as well. Parasailing, banana boat rides, and jet skiing are a few of the water activities that you can enjoy here.

Freedom beach

If you just cannot stand the sight of a beach packed with tourists all over the place and would prefer somewhere quieter and peaceful then freedom beach should probably be your safest bet. Despite being located in a rowdy district of Patong, this beach is exactly as the name suggests. Away from all the hustle-bustle of the city, freedom beach is much quieter and peaceful than any other beach on this island where you can enjoy some time in solitude and tranquility. There are no jet skis, parasailing, or any sort of noisy act that can disturb your peaceful time on the beach.

Kata beach

If you are looking for a beach that is not only perfect in terms of its beauty but other sorts of things as well such as soft white sand, crystal blue water, places to eat and drink and most importantly an open space to lounge around then kata beach is all that you need to discover. It is easy to see why this beach is so popular amongst tourists and locals. Stretching at a length of 1.5 km, this beach never feels too packed even though there are thousands of visitors that come by this beach. The swaying palm and casuarina trees only add to the beauty of this beach and make it feel more inviting.

Karon beach

Karon beach is also one of the longest beaches on the island which is ideal for all kinds of visitors ranging from honeymooners to adventure seekers. The beach also remains less crowded which is another highlighting point as it is very rare for the beaches in Phuket to remain less occupied. Whether you’re here to enjoy a romantic walk alongside the coastline or to enjoy one of the water-based activities such as jet skiing and parasailing, Karon beach will never leave you disappointed.

Surin beach

Surin beach is not only one of the prettiest beaches in Phuket but it is also a hub of luxe resorts and all these things together make this beach an ideal destination for a lot of visitors. Although the beach today is not as fun and exciting as it used to be, it still manages to retain its natural and raw beauty with a good selection of hotels, restaurants, and shops. You can also take part in water-based activities such as swimming and snorkeling. However, the water here gets pretty deep here and that is one thing to keep in mind while you’re at swimming.
